60th Union of the United Republic of Tanzania

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, we took a trip to Dodoma to take part in the celebration of the 60th Union of the United Republic of Tanzania.

The day began with a medal ceremony that paid tribute to our military and political veterans, reminding us of the enduring legacy and sacrifices that have shaped our nation.

It was great to see my good friends Mh. Dr. John Malacela, and Mh. Dr. Gharib Bilal, receiving very prestigious awards from Mama Samia.

Following the ceremony, we had the pleasure of attending the launch of "60 Years of the Union Between Tanganyika and Zanzibar - A Photographic Journey," authored by Javed Jafferji, Kumail Jafferji, and Balozi Mahmoud Kombo. The book is a significant contribution to our understanding of our shared history and beautifully illustrates the journey of our union. During the book launch, Ambassador Mahmoud Kombo delivered a speech that offered profound insights into the themes of the book, enriching our understanding of its contents. This was complemented by commendations and reflections from H.E. Hussein Mwinyi, H.E. Phillip Mpango, and H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Their speeches not only celebrated our past achievements but also addressed the significance of this literary project and shared their visions for our continued united future. At the end of the ceremony, we had the privilege to meet Mama Samia and exchange some words with her.

The entire day was a reflection of our collective spirit and the strong ties that bind us as a nation. It was uplifting to be among so many individuals who share a commitment to our nation's unity and progress.

Warm regards, Zarina
