Welcoming you to 2024 Reunion of our beloved Zanzibar which is well overdue so 'Karibu to Paradise Zanzibar' - HERE WE COME!

Some of you may not have been back for nearly sixty years since 1964, so we welcome you to our Group Reunion where we have an exciting and inclusive programme of activities for you to enjoy your trip back ‘home’ and live through nostalgia and a trip down memory lane. 

ZANZIBAR ITINERARY 2024 PROGRAMME 

Saturday 21st September 2024 1st Day. 

(1) Arrivals and check into Tembo Hotel. Very central for easy access to all the places into Stonetown. 

(2) Sundowner and evening welcome dinner at Maru Maru restaurant at 6.00 pm.

Sunday 22nd September Day 2. 

9.30 am A lecture by Zanzibar historian Prof Abdul Sharif about Stonetown truths and myths at Maru Maru meeting room with tea/coffee and snacks and then a guided tour of Stonetown and a snack lunch of Zanzibar Mix. 

Afternoon at leisure to wonder around Stonetown.

Monday 23rd September Day 3. 

After breakfast a boat trip to Nakupenda sandbanks for snorkelling and onto Prison Island to see 100 year old tortoises.

Evening dinner at Archipelago Restaurant owned by Masoud, a good friend of mine- seafood restaurant. Dinner to be paid by guest 20 USD.

Tuesday 24th September Day 4. 

21 USD per head. 

A trip to Jozani Forest to see the Colobus monkeys - now extinct elsewhere and the mangrove fields. Sort Transport and entry fee 12 USD.

Afternoon visit to Kizimbani spice farm to see where all the spices which most of us use in our cooking is grown.

Wednesday 25th September 2024 Day 5.

A full day of amazing experience with Safari Blue. We travel to Fumba to pick up our dhows and sail to Kwale Island. Snorkeling gear will be provided. Just bring your swimming costume and a towel. Zanzibar lunch with lobster and local fruits in season including beer and soft drinks included.

Thursday 26th September 2024 Day 6.

A full day on the pristine beach at Matemwe, NE Zanzibar at the Jafferji Beach Retreat Hotel inclusive of lunch and surprises.

(2) Evening get together with Zanzibar Bohoras (request of Fakhru) at Zainabia Karimjee Hall. 

I have spoken to Asif, Mustafa Baburo’s son who is Jamat secretary. He will circularise the Jamat members and those who are interested to meet us to meet at Lady Zainabia Karimjee Hall for a couple of hours from 7pm after Maghrib namaaz. 

A full dinner with kharas, mains dessert and masala chai will be served.

Friday 27th September Day 7. 

A whole day trip to your favourite beach at Jambiani to Sharazad Boutique Hotel inclusive of a sumptuous BBQ lunch. A day of relaxation of swimming and chilling out.
